I'm Professor of Environment and Development at the University of Birmingham, based in the International Development Department. I'm delighted to be the Programme Lead for the Forum for Global Challenges and bring with me almost 30 years of working in international development. I first joined the University of Birmingham in 1994, as a Research Associate, and left at the end of 2002 to work on a lake management project in Uganda for two years. This was followed by three years on Lake Victoria, supporting the introduction of fisheries co-management. I've been pleased to continue working with the Lake Victoria Fisheries Organisation since returning to academia and focusing on my research interests of natural resource governance and livelihoods.
